In recent decades, bee populations are decreasing before our eyes. The loss of biodiversity is closely linked to pressure on the bee population.

Climate change, pollution, the use of agrochemicals, monoculture in forestry, intensive agriculture, the expansion of invasive exotic species and the Asian hornet wasp are all factors hindering their survival.

This is worrying since bees are the largest pollinators and therefore are a major factor for the production of 60% of crops and the sustainability of agriculture. Which means that if they are in danger, our food sources are in danger.

With climate change the expansion of bee diseases has multiplied. Their cycles have been altered and bees sometimes seem puzzled by climatic fluctuations. Bees, who are the best predictors of time, seem to be disoriented by not finding the balance between their cycles and seasonal changes.

Since we respect their biological rhythms, we have been able to observe how each year many bees aren’t able to produce honey beyond what is strictly necessary for their survival and often they do not reach this minimum. Therefore they need the support of the honey produced by other hives.

Other times they can’t maintain an ideal population to survive the winter and we help them by reducing their hives to more suitable spaces.
