about us

The spirit of this project has come into being in A Ulloa, at the heart of Galicia. This is where we concentrate our efforts towards creating a sustainable, rural project that protects nature and respects the environment.

With the help of our little companions, the bees, we produce good quality beekeeping products.

With the help of our little companions, the bees, we produce good quality beekeeping products. Every day the bees teach us how to slow down and adapt to their work. They set the time frames. They anticipate climatic and seasonal changes and adapt their work to the environment. We try to understand them and observe their needs so that we can produce honey, pollen and propolis of the best quality, in the most respectful way.

The bees

Bees and honey have been present in myths and philosophy throughout history.

There are cave paintings in southern Africa with representations of bees and their nests that suggest their importance since the Stone Age. There is a void of documentation about bees from the Stone Age to the Egyptian culture. References to them re-appear in Egyptian culture, where they were considered sacred and bridges between the world of the living and the dead.

In ancient Greece, bees were associated with Demeter, the goddess of the earth and crops. In the Greek temples the Goddess Artemis appears decorated with bees. In South American, Central Asian and Siberian traditions they symbolize the soul that flies away from the body.
